Our final concert of the 2024 series was an interesting mix of the familiar and the more experimental. The trio once again dazzled with their skill and musicianship. Their talent never fails to carry the full programme and delight our audience.
A super concert with a programme drawing from repertoire spanning almost 300 years. Delicate Dvorak, stately Haydn, an atmospheric Evangeline Mason amd a sunlit Mendelssohn.
All performed with great technical skill and musicality - a real pleasure for the audience and organisers.
We were treated to a real audience pleasing concert by The Chicago Teddy Bears.
On a very damp September evening, the band warmed the hearts of everyone with their wide ranging repertoire and amusing stories.
Our thanks to the fabulous 2nd Rossendale Scout Group Band, for a wonderful evening of music!
Audience members were delighted to listen to a wide programme of the old and the new, the very powerful and the surprisingly gentle. All brilliantly woven together by compère and Musical Director, Graham Helm!
Together, in full flow, the band sounded awesome, but there were lots of young soloists, who each did a great job.
It’s was wonderful to see the mixed age range in the band and with so many talented youngsters! What a great job the leaders and organisers do developing young talent!
Everyone, without exception, as they were leaving, sang the Band’s praises!
Ethan Loch’s Concert was outstanding!
An audience member said ‘I thought Ethan was outstanding - not just his playing but his personality and connection with the audience. They love him, well who wouldn’t? He’s an inspiration!’
Ethan showed us his virtuosity, his very personal compositions, and two encores, one an improvisation and the second a toe tapping jazz arrangement! He is phenomenal!
The audience queued up to say thank you and shake his hand at the end!
If you ever get the chance to see Ethan live, you must grab it with both hands!
Our thanks to Aestus Quartet for their performance this evening.

A real voyage of adventure.
A truly wonderful concert tonight! Fifteen year old Julie Zhang’s performance was outstanding!
Her programme showcased her prowess at the piano, delivering a performance packed with excitement, poignancy and energy. So graceful on the keys, yet with such tenacity and strength!
The transition between the boldness of Beethoven and Scriabin and the gentleness of Chopin’s Tristesse and Nocturne was impressive!
This was Julie’s first full concert - we hope it’s the first of many!
A super concert this evening by Trio Volant!
We were treated to a varied programme from 18th to 21st century music! That specific trio of instruments lent itself really well to the Mozart and Beethoven pieces in particular.

Harmony Hounds are a highly entertaining five-piece band who play jazz and dance music as it would have been heard in the hotels, dance halls and clubs of 1920s America. The band will play a wide range of music by popular composers.
